The healthiest churches are not simply churches that react to the call to action; rather the healthiest churches are the ones that are led to develop ministry from within.  This is the work of the Holy Spirit, and actually the fullness of the meaning behind the word “liturgy” meaning, “the work of the people.”  

We are called to share the love of Christ with others, but we are to go beyond sharing His love….We are to share Christ himself!  The purpose of outreach is to reach beyond the walls of the church to introduce others to Jesus Christ.  

First United Methodist Church Victoria strives to Be the Church in all we do, both within our doors and out into the community.  Various events are held throughout the year including Family Game Day, Movie Night, Trunk or Treat and Pumpkin Patch.  These are in addition to ministries specific to community needs such as school partnerships, hurricane recovery and healthcare ministries as well as support of other valuable organizations within our own community and other communities around the world.

Hopkins Elementary

We started the new school year with a lunch for the Teachers and Administrators of Hopkins Elementary. We support the teachers, who in turn, support the children. Gifts for the teachers and school supplies were given. Through out the year we will continue to support the teachers, administrators and children of Hopkins

After Hurricane Harvey FUMC Victoria worked with other organizations to supply necessities and help rebuild. We will be ready to help in any way we can when needed.
